 Free Learning Tools to Help Make Technology Work for You!

Ready to connect to new opportunities? Here are some tools to help you feel comfortable and confident with technology.

Choose a Class:

  • Getting Started on the Computer - Learn about what a computer is and how to use a mouse and keyboard. (15 minutes)

  • Using a PC (Windows 7) - If you know a bit about using a mouse and keyboard but don't know your way around using a computer just yet, this is the class for you. Learn how to use a PC (Personal Computer) with the Windows 7 Operating System. (13 minutes)

  • Basic Search - Never used a search engine before? This class will help you learn about search engines and get you starting searching the internet. We will also cover some advanced search tools and advertisements in search. (7 minutes)

  • Navigate a Website - Learn how to navigate a website. (6 minutes)

  • Intro to Email - New to email? This is the perfect class to get you started using email. Learn what email is, how to set up an account, how to reply to and send emails, and more. (14 minutes)

The Public Library Association’s new website, DigitalLearn.org, is an IMLS grant-funded project to create an online national hub for digital literacy support and training. This website launched in June 2013 and includes a collection of self-directed tutorials for patrons to increase their digital literacy and a community of practice for digital literacy trainers to share resources, tools and best practices.

GCFLearnFree also provides lots of free tuturials and inforamtion about using and navigating computers.
