How to Access files on Flash Drive: Access from Windows

  1.  Connect your flash drive to a USB port on your PC and allow Windows to recognize it. Click the "Start" menu and launch "My Computer."
  2. Double-click the flash drive from the list of storage devices. The device in question is typically named "Removable Storage." Alternatively, the company or brand label is used instead.
  3. Launch or modify files within the drive. When finished, right-click the flash drive label and select "Eject" to safely remove it from your computer.

How to Save Files on Flash Drive:

  1. Remove the cap from the USB flash drive if it has one. If it has a retractable USB connector, slide the switch forward to extend the connector.
  2. Insert the USB connector into a USB port on your computer. The direction in which you insert the drive depends on the orientation of your computer's USB ports; some computers use vertical ports while others use horizontal ports.
  3. Click "Open Folder to View Files" in the AutoPlay menu that appears. If the AutoPlay menu doesn't pop up automatically, click "Start" and select "My Computer." Double-click on the drive letter that represents the USB flash drive.
  4. To save a file or document directly to the USB drive, select "Save As" in the program you are using and select the drive letter representing the flash drive from the list. Key the filename you wish to use. Press "Enter" to save the file directly to the drive.

How to Upload Files on Flash Drive:

  1. Select “Browse” option from application you wish to upload a file.
  2. Connect your flash drive to a USB port on your PC and allow Windows to recognize it.
  3. Select "My Computer" from the Browse screen.
  4. Double-click the flash drive from the list of storage devices. The device in question is typically named "Removable Storage." Alternatively, the company or brand label is used instead.
  5. Locate and double-click the file within the drive you wish to upload. Your file will then be uploaded and listed as an attachment.
  6. When finished, right-click the flash drive label and select "Eject" to safely remove it from your computer.
